A downloadable bullet mayhem for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Weird shmup by me and scowsh

Z to shoot  X to slow down C to use shield

Shield recharges quickly so use it!!!

Currently nothing but a little demo of what's to come - a 3 stage short arcade mode with possibly a secret tlb at the end hehe. Caravan is a 2 minute score attack mode with different scoring than the real mode, not that much though. Scowsh made the music, check his stuff out!!! https://scowsh.bandcamp.com/album/shardz-of-iron-caravan-mode-ost

it's almost like a shmup where bombing is your main attack - Dogtopius
good game feel and music, right off the bat challenging also - Dronami
kinda odd but I've been really enjoying the vibe of this - Kobito
so aggressive, lol - MagnaRemora
i have been summoned - Louie

I can infact not confirm that this is indeed a game.

Thank you for this beautiful insight. I will think about it.

Seeing as there is currently no linux version there is no way for me to breathe, nor check if the game is actually a game.  as turbowarp is blocked at my school so i have to check at home if this is a real game.

I will make a Linux version sure

Love the style of this game. The music is excellent!! Great particle effects too. Can't wait to see more!

Thank you so much!

if you don't know already, kollumos is prodigiously good at making shmups in scratch and this one is no different. i believe this is the fourth shmup they have made.

i'm a big fan of their style of pixel art. it's fascinating to go back and play Locked Arcadia; you can see a clear through line with their use of high-contrast, limited color palettes and geometric designs. it reminds me of Mecha Ritz, but that comparison isn't entirely right either... kollumos' games really do look unique, and that distinctive style is refined in Shardz of Iron. i love it

the soundrack by scowsh is a bop!

the bullet patterns are colorful, pretty, and fairly dense. there's a good high score run on YouTube if you want to see how to play the game well. you are intended to make heavy use of your shield to convert bullets into gems.

it runs well with TurboWarp if you choose to play it in the browser.

follow kollumos if you don't already! they are prolific artist, and it seems like they are early in their game dev career. who knows where they'll be in a few years

Wow, Thank you so much for these kind words! My artstyle is the one thing i'm never sure about, glad that there are people loving it! I do hope that this will be the last game i make in scratch, it's such a horrendous engine. Also, glad to know that you are doing okay, your games are awesome too :)

very impressive for a scratch game, it has some visual bugs and the pacing is a lil fast/hard but I can tell it's made for those with bigger balls than I, very nice.

4.2/5

Best of luck, kollumos, and cheers!

Wow such a high score! Big thanks! What visual bugs are you talking about? The fact that its not properly pixelated? Thats a bug on my end, no idea how to fix it lol

(+1)

Nothing I noticed was not properly pixelated, but the resolution of the game doesn't stretch vertically in fullscreen (probably just turbowarp), but I also noticed in Arcade mode the lil...thingies? that were scrolling past seem to disappear upon reachin the end of the screen rather than going past and then hiding, disable fencing and adjust when they should disappear.

Thats so good to know. The backgrounds dissapearing doesnt bother me that much, but the fact that its properly pixelated is super nice. I was worried because everytime i run it on my laptop it doesnt work.

Also arcade mode wasnt meant to be accesible already LOL

so please forget everything you saw ( the new build fixes this lololol )
